Book Review for Odd Remains:

Subterranean Blue Poetry

Volume II Issue II

Lilies in the Window

by Ginna Wilkerson

She breathes the indigo night air

from a shadowy corner

angled to see –

without being seen.

Seven stark white lilies

Spread frost over the still room –

far distant, a tangerine sunset

casts embers over auburn fields.

A quickening of the night air

quivers through the lilies –

her breath, too, caressing their heads.

Purple Moon

by Ginna Wilkerson

The hotel hallway swims with water.

Spice-scented guests move ahead.

Immunity is everything when you dare.

She finds herself in a blue-walled

Room. More than two in a bed

means confusion and drowning.

Silken hair tangles with waves

While bodies writhe in sensual

despair. Yes and no are the same.

She climbs from a tilted window,

escaping under a purple moon

shining violet on her fragile skin.
